All the same size, all with a porch
Senior Apartments in Montrose, Colorado
Every suite is 500 square feet with its own porch, kitchenette and full bath. Twenty-six of them, all the same size.

What does a 500 sq. ft. suite include?

Most people arrive here looking for senior apartments in Montrose, and that is a fair description of the suites. What separates them from a standard 55+ apartment is that meals, housekeeping, laundry, utilities and repairs are all part of one monthly rate.

Do the suites come furnished?
No — suites are unfurnished, on purpose. Residents bring their own furniture, hang their own pictures and can decorate the space however they like. The point is that it becomes their home rather than a room they've been assigned.
If you're moving a parent out of a house, that's the hardest part of the transition, and it's worth planning early which pieces come along.
What does it cost, and for how long?
Rates depend on single or double occupancy, and we quote them by phone. The agreement is month to month — one month minimum, no lease, and rent that does not rise from one month to the next. If you decide to move on, we ask for 30 days in writing.
What about safety?
Every suite has a walk-in shower, grab bars and an emergency pull-cord system, and the premises are under surveillance 24 hours a day. There is also a laundry room available to residents in addition to the laundry and housekeeping we handle.

What else is on site?
Beyond the apartments there's a library, a common area with a television, a crafts room and a family room for visits. The dining room seats everyone for meals, and the 20 acres are open to residents throughout the day — see the grounds.
Common questions
How big are the suites?
Every suite is 500 square feet and includes a bedroom, living room, kitchenette, en-suite bathroom and a private porch with its own door to the grounds. All 26 share the same size and layout, available for single or double occupancy, so no resident ends up with a smaller or lesser room than their neighbor.
Are the suites furnished?
No. Suites are unfurnished on purpose, so residents bring their own furniture, hang their own pictures and arrange the space the way they want it. Most residents say this is what makes a suite feel like their home rather than a room they have been assigned by somebody else.
Is there a call system if something happens?
Yes. Every suite has an emergency pull-cord system, and the bathrooms have walk-in showers fitted with grab bars. The premises are also under surveillance 24 hours a day. There are no medical staff on site, so residents who want hands-on support arrange their own private caregiver through us.
How long do I have to commit for?
One month. The agreement is month to month with no lease, no buy-in and no entrance fee, and the rent does not increase from one month to the next. If a resident decides to move on, we ask for 30 days' notice in writing. That is the whole commitment.
Do the suites have a view?
The suites facing south look out at the mountains and the pond, and every suite has a private porch that opens directly onto the 20 acres. Walking paths are concrete rather than gravel, which matters for anyone using a walker or a wheelchair to get around the property.
